Ever been to a place which brings peace? Ever wondered why? Ever thought of giving credits to the man who designed it? Well, the matter certainly caught the eye of the Pritzker family in 1978. Jay and Cindy Pritzker had been in the hotels business for long enough to recognize what a positive impact the aesthetic and design of a building had on the behavior of their customers and staff. They decided to reward every year, the architects who through their talent, vision and commitment had mastered the art of architecture. 100,000 thousand US dollars along with a bronze medal are presented each year at an architecturally sound and prevailing venue anywhere in the world. Cast, color, nationality and the Pritzkers have nothing to do with the selection of the living legend, for a jury of professionals does it. The Pritzker Prize is indeed, the Nobel Prize in architecture.
